Appointment
overview
At the time of the appointment, the doctor
will perform a pelvic examination which determines
the size and position of the uterus. He will then
perform an ultrasound examination, which will
accurately determine how far the pregnancy has
progressed. As long as the pregnancy is 13 weeks
or less, the procedure can be performed.
At your visit you:
- Review your completed WomanCare Chart Pack
forms;
- Receive a pelvic ultrasound to estimate
length of pregnancy;
- Have a few simple lab tests to identify
the Rh factor type of our blood, and possibly
to check for anemia;
- Discuss what abortion and anesthesia options
are available to you;
- Meet with a patient coordinator to review
your medical history, review consent for the
procedure and answer any of your questions
or concerns;
- We’ will go over Aftercare Instructions
and if desired, help you choose a birth control
method.
